Checklist Information.

Reasons.

I realised one day that I was using the John Barefoot book as a checklist, when it was really rather inappropriate.
Not because I felt I was in competition with John, but because I need to look out for variations that I have identified and therefore
needed a checklist that reflected my own listing. John's list, though good, is non-specialised.

I therefore started to create a series of checklists, based on my listing. At the beginning, I didn't actually have a printer, so my settings were rather arbitrary.
Also, since it was experimental, the access to them was hidden on the page. Generally at the top of each page is a green box that gives a short introduction and status.
At the bottom of the box was an underline character. That was the secret entry point to the checklist for that page (please don't tell anyone ;o)

Now I have a printer though, so I am going through the checklists and tweaking them to work with some defined standard settings.
As they become reasonably usable, I will replace the underline with 'CheckList' and 'Setup' links, the Setup bringing you here.

You can still click the underline, but the results may not be wonderful and some may not work at all. Feedback always welcome.

Current assumptions .

The Printer I have is a Fuji-Xerox Docuprint CP116w which is a reasonably inexpensive colour laser printer.
I'm sure other printers will be fine, but if you have problems, knowing what I'm using may help.

I am using A4 paper, because that is what is generally supplied here and also in Britain.
If you are using American paper that will be a problem currently.
The checklists use Windows built-in printer functions which leave a lot to be desired,
I don't think it has changed much since Windows 3, and sometimes it has needed a lot of fine-tuning on my part to get the desired results.
I have never owned an Apple Macintosh device, so have no idea how to get an equivalent function on that.
If anyone wants to use this on an Apple Mac and can provide information, I'll give it a try.

When you click on 'CheckList' a pop-up box will open showing the first page with a 'Print' button at the top-right.
Near it there is also a checkbox so you can choose whether to include the prices.
There is also functional currency and language selection at the bottom, though due to the varying sizes of each of them
and the lack of programatic control over the printing function, it may mess up the output.
At the moment, the Microsoft Translator bar at the top is messing up the page format.

I have used English with GB£ and tried to make it resilient to European, American and Russian standards, but currencies like the Yen may cause problems.

Printer Setup.

Click on 'Print' and select:

Pages = All, or if the last one is not wanted then adjust accordingly.
Layout = Portrait
click 'More Settings'
Paper size = A4
Margins: change to customised then moving the mouse over a page, you can drag the margins to:
      left = right = 4mm.
      top = bottom = 10.5mm (you can vary them as long as they total to 21mm)
Scale = 100(%)
Turn off the options unless you can and want to use double sided.

When you are happy with it, click the blue 'Print' button at the top. These settings will be saved untill you change them for something else.

A list of the status of each page can be found at Checklist Status .
'Needs verifying' means that they are basically done, but I need to make sure that they
work with the standard printer settings and are linked to the main page.
